A Colorful Home Beneath the Roofs of Sofia

In the very heart of Sofia’s Lozenets district, in a historic building filled with spirit and history, lies an attic apartment that carries not only architectural charm and character but also cultural memory — once home to the beloved Bulgarian actor Georgi Parcalev.

Layout

This loft apartment consists of a spacious living room combined with a dining area and kitchenette, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. It is located in the historical center of Sofia.

kitchen realization

The kitchen features an airy mint-and-milk tone for the lower cabinetry, while the upper units combine oak-veneered MDF with matte painted MDF in a RAL color.

dining realization

The wooden beams used in the construction of the wooden roof add lots of character to the space. They are stained in a light color, so as to be in harmony with the wooden oak floor.

bedroom realization

A floor-to-ceiling wardrobe and a semi-open shelving unit provide generous storage without overwhelming the space visually. The workspace features the iconic Charles Eames chair — a timeless Vitra classic.

entrance hall

The same aesthetic continues into the entrance hall — with original lighting, built-in wardrobes, a bench, and a large mirror.

visualization design 2 - Classic Black-And-White

We called the second interior design proposal a Classic Black-And-White. As the name suggests, the black and white colors prevail and are paired with metal, wood, and ceramic materials.

kitchen visualization design proposal 3 - Color

We called our third interior design proposal Color. We wanted to give an uplifting feeling to the interior through the use of color. When you enter you will feel positive vibrations and joy.

kitchen realization

The countertop and backsplash are crafted from premium Italian engineered stone, with a seamlessly integrated sink by Shock. A light shelving structure integrates the refrigerator, both connecting and subtly separating the kitchen and dining zones.

dining relization

The apartment has a very charming feel due to its openness and large bright high ceilings.

dining relization

Above the table and the lounge area descend two sculptural dimmable lamps, crafted by Cablelovers Studio in collaboration with arch. Colasante. The walls come alive with artworks by artist Mila Lozanova.

master bedroom realization

The main bedroom is defined by clean lines, an upholstered headboard in earthy tones, an ensuite bathroom, and a functional walk-in wardrobe.

Art in the Bathroom

The bathrooms retain their original layout but have been artistically refreshed: coated in microcement, on which Kalina Chankova leaves her signature — delicate hand-painted elements.

dining visualization design 1 - Scandinavian touch

This is a young woman’s first apartment and we created three different interior design projects for her. The layout is the same for the three projects, but we offered three different color schemes, as well as different materials and colors for the furniture. For the furnishings we selected ready-made furniture from the leading brands on the market.

kitchen realization

The residence consists of a spacious living room with an open-plan dining area and kitchenette, two cozy bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The space impresses with its bright volumes and unexpected height even in the most sloped areas — the sense of air and freedom is palpable. The original layout has been preserved.

kitchen realization

The exposed wooden roof beams, treated with light stain and matte varnish, introduce architectural rhythm and harmonize with the natural oak flooring.

dining relization

The dining area is anchored by a bespoke extendable solid oak table with yellow metal legs, designed by arch. Colasante. Around it are upholstered chairs in soft pink with matching yellow metal legs — an award-winning Italian design recognized for its ergonomic excellence.

sofa area realization

The relaxation nook feels like a true colorful embrace — with a light-toned sofa and an artistic designer rug that unites all hues into vibrant harmony.

bedroom realization

The smaller bedroom is rendered in a pink palette, softly illuminated by custom lamps once again created by Cablelovers based on Colasante’s design.

The mirrors follow the organic lines of the artwork and are softly backlit, creating a gentle, intimate atmosphere.
