layout

This project was very dear to my heart because it was about designing the first home of a very distinguished young woman.

The goal was to create a cozy living room and to furnish the bathrooms while leaving the two bedrooms unfinished until some point in the future depending on what direction the young owner’s life takes.

For now one of the bedrooms is functional with only the bare necessities while the other one is being used as a home office.

living room

Sometimes it is not necessary for a home to be finished from A to Z; this allows the inhabitants the freedom to make changes later on as they see fit.

We made the best use of the French windows by placing a bench under each window thus creating a lounging nook in every room.

The benches also have a storage area within them which helped us save space.

living - kitchen

The living room, albeit plenty spacious with its 20m2, was also the most challenging because of its long and narrow shape.

Both visually and functionally we divided it into three zones: a kitchenette, living room, and dining room.

We visually separated the living room space by painting that section of the walls and ceiling in a nude color to resemble the shape of a cube.

Our budget was limited and most of the furniture and accessories were purchased from IKEA. The kitchenette gives off the feeling of an arch due to its geometrical symmetry.

bathroom

All of the materials used were chosen for their functionality and ease of maintenance. The color palette was chosen by the client.
